VOLGOGRAD RIVER PORT
Volgograd is the largest in the
South of Russia. It is located at the junction of
arterial roads, main-line railways, waterways and
airlines.
In Volgograd the waterway coming through the
Volgo-Don canal forks into Caspian and Mediterranean
ways. Volgograd's railway junction has branch lines
to Saint-Petersburg and Ural in the north and to
Novorossiysk, Astrakhan and Azerbaijan in the south.
Automobile trunk-roads link Volgograd with Moscow
and Ural in the north and with Astrakhan, Stavropol
and Rostov-On-Don in the south. There is an
international airport in Volgograd.
The city is located on the way of international
transport streams "South-North" and "Danube-Volga".

mills, steel pipes from Volzhsky pipe plant, scrap
metal for export, aluminum, alumina, granular sulfur
from Kazakhstan, potash, polypropylene, bischofite,
salt cake from Turkmenistan etc. More than 90
percent of cargoes are export-import.
